Ripponden housing is millstone grit, much of it built for mill labour, with larger houses and farm conversions on the hills towards Rishworth and the reservoirs. Valley-floor cottages take damp and older plaster in the same way as the rest of the Calder catchment. Higher up, elevations catch Pennine weather and exterior paintwork has to be specified for that, not for a sheltered suburban street. We walk the building and pick the system that suits it.
Ripponden is a short run from Sowerby Bridge and still well inside our regular patch from Hebden Bridge. Site visits are easy to arrange on the same working day as jobs in Halifax or the Calder Valley.
