Local housing stock & what it needs
A lot of Brighouse is mill-era stone: canalside terraces, converted industrial buildings, and denser streets than the upper Calder Valley. Mixed plaster histories are common, and ground-floor rooms near the river have to cope with a damp valley climate. Higher up towards Lightcliffe and Hipperholme the stock opens out into later semis and villas, where the prep is more straightforward but the finish still has to land. We pick the paint and plaster system for the wall in front of us.
